We are committed to becoming a Climate Positive Workforce

Elucidat is a Software as a Service business, using cloud hosting to support our software platform. We have a team based in the UK and the US.

Climate emissions are an unavoidable part of our business activities. However, we are determined to minimise our impact on the environment wherever possible and offset our emissions whenever we are unable to eliminate them.

At Elucidat our company values are ‘Learn, Care, Share’. Our ‘Care’ value is a commitment to care for our people, our customers and the world around us.

Our mission is to become Climate Positive as soon as possible. This means we will take more CO2 out of the atmosphere than we put in.

How we will do it

We will become Climate Positive by following the guidelines of theclimatepledge.com which are:

1. Regular Reporting
   We have undertaken an initial carbon footprint audit mid 2021 as a starting point. We are committed to renewing this audit yearly and reporting our results.
2. Carbon Elimination
   We are committed to implementing decarbonization strategies through real business changes and innovations. This includes:
   • Efficient use of water, energy, and other natural resources
   • Recycling and minimising waste
   • Sustainable transport and minimising business travel
   • Responsible purchasing
   • Working with clients and suppliers to encourage high environmental standards
   • Raising awareness and training employees on environmental issues
3. Credible Offsets
   We are committed to neutralizing any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions.In line with this goal we have joined the Million Tree Pledge (partnering with Ecologi) and are exploring further projects to partner with, both locally and in regions where they can have the greatest impact.

These actions are also underpinned by a mindset of continuous improvement where we always look to implement best practices in our business to meet our goals.

The Climate Pledge suggests that businesses aim to reach net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040, however as a business we believe we can achieve this much sooner, and go even further to become Climate Positive.
